At Local Alike, we believe development starts with listening to local voices. We work side by side with communities to build skills, create meaningful travel experiences, and protect what makes each place unique. Our regenerative approach helps communities grow in a way that supports people, culture, and nature for now and for the future.

Our Services

  • Strategic consulting for community-based and sustainable tourism development. We work closely with communities, organizations, and partners to assess local contexts, identify challenges and opportunities, and co-design practical solutions. Our consulting supports project planning, destination development, product positioning, and long-term sustainability.

  • Coaching programs designed to help corporate teams understand communities and social enterprise models. We guide organizations in learning how community-based tourism works in practice—covering topics such as Social Enterprise (SE) business models, community engagement, value co-creation, and responsible partnership. Our coaching bridges the gap between corporate objectives and meaningful community impact.

  • Story-driven communication that translates community impact into meaningful narratives. We help corporates communicate their collaboration with communities in an authentic and responsible way—highlighting social value, local stories, and sustainable outcomes rather than traditional promotional messaging.

  • Co-creation of products and experiences that connect corporate goals with community value. We work with organizations and communities to design tourism experiences, learning journeys, and local products that reflect community identity while supporting Social Enterprise principl

    Following the King’s Philosophy for Sustainable Tourism Project

    The “Following the King’s Philosophy for Sustainable Tourism” project is dedicated to promoting truly sustainable community-based tourism. Guided by His Majesty King Rama IX’s working principles of “Understand, Reach Out, Develop,” the project serves as a framework for meaningful and responsible implementation. In collaboration with UNDP, the initiative strengthens model communities in key areas such as tourism management, product development, and communicating local identity. The goal is to encourage domestic travel while creating genuine, stable income opportunities for local communities.

    Local Chef: Empowering Ban Phon Thai Community

    Ban Phon Thai has been elevated into a “Vintage Isan Village,” a sustainable cultural tourism destination where visitors can experience authentic Isan ways of life, the traditional “Heet 12” customs, and participate in local craft activities. The project focuses on holistic community development, including improvements to the water supply system, environmental conservation, and landscape enhancement. Through this initiative, the community is able to generate income and manage its own tourism operations under Ban Phon Thai Co., Ltd.

    Krabi Product Prototype

    The project promotes “TRAVEL WITH CARE – The More You Travel, the More Sustainable It Becomes,” positioning Krabi as a green destination that balances economic growth with nature conservation. It develops value-added tourism products and routes based on local identity and Thai wisdom, focusing on Self Care, Nature Care, and Culture Care to support sustainable growth in Krabi Province.

    DASTA SE HERO 2022: Empowering model communities and youth on the path to Social Enterprise

    Dasta (อพท.)

    The Community Tourism Development Project, implemented by DASTA in 2022, aims to strengthen community-based tourism in line with local potential. The project focuses on empowering youth and model communities to become social enterprise tourism entrepreneurs through training, mentoring, and real-world fieldwork. With over nine years of experience across 160 communities in more than 60 provinces, the program concludes with a business plan competition, awarding prizes and seed funding to three winning teams.

    The Creative MICE

    Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB)

    The Creative MICE, Empowering Communities Nationwide project develops premium MICE products by turning local resources and wisdom into high-value goods such as food, souvenirs, and hotel amenities. Selected communities from Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, and Phuket will enhance these products through refined packaging and storytelling to create memorable experiences for high-value MICE travelers.

    The Community Product Development Project under Restart Thailand supports new graduates while upgrading local products through branding, packaging, and prototype development. A total of 160 first-lot community products were prepared for market testing and promotion, supported by online storytelling campaigns under the “Local Twist” concept to strengthen local economies.

    This project aims to support international corporate clients who choose Thailand as a destination for meetings and incentive travel, helping generate income for the country while promoting community products. Souvenirs are developed under the concept “Colors and Charms of Thailand,” incorporating local wisdom and reflecting Thai identity. The products are made from natural materials such as tie-dyed fabrics and pandan leaves, with a focus on environmental friendliness and the sustainable distribution of income to local communities.

    Local Co-Creation

    Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT)

    The Local Co-Creation project presents “The Journey of Local Co-Creation,” a cultural tourism experience under the concept “Sustainable Food, Good Experience.” The project enhances tourism products from Ban Sawathi (Khon Kaen) and Ban Nai Nang (Krabi) through creative food and beverage workshops, delivering meaningful, sustainable experiences while supporting local economies and culture.

    The Kad Lai Ta Project

    National Innovation Agency (NIA)

    The Kad Lai Ta Project is a social innovation initiative aimed at elevating and transforming local food products from the Kad Lai Ta community in Phayao Province into a “Him Kwan Phayao Fusion Street Food Market.” The project draws on local ingredients and traditional wisdom to develop fusion-style menus that are convenient to carry and aligned with contemporary market demands. Beyond generating income and stimulating a circular economy within the community through the creation of three new product offerings, the project also helps preserve and pass on culinary stories while fostering long-term pride in the community’s food identity.
