Villagers from four sub-districts in Pa Tew District have been dedicated to community-based tourism. Enjoy fresh seafood while traveling here. Visit Nong Yai Area Development Project Under Royal Initiative. Join a lot of fun activities such as planting mangrove forest, making nipa palm sugar, snorkeling and rafting.

6.45 a.m. Meet at our meeting point: Airport / the bus station / hotels in town. Get on a VIP van to go to Baan Mai Chai Klong Homestay, Pa Tew District, located by Bang Son Canal and surrounded by mangrove forests. 7.00 a.m. Leave your baggage at the homestay before having local breakfast. 9.00 a.m Learn how to make nipa palm sugar and bring some home. At Patew District, nipa palm trees are commonly found in brackish water areas. Join mangrove forest planting activity. The mangrove trees planted today will be home for young fish in the future.

12.00 p.m. Enjoy Southern dishes of fresh seafood. 1.30 p.m. Go to Nong Yai Area Development Project Under Royal Initiative, King Rama IX’s project for flood prevention in Chumphon. 2.00 p.m. Arrive at the Center. Meet an officer who will show us around. 4.00 p.m. Relax at the homestay.

6.00 p.m. Have seafood dinner. 7.00 p.m. Enjoy leisure time.

7.00 a.m. Have breakfast at the homestay. 8.00 a.m. Leave for Koh Tiab Community, Pa Tew District. 8.45 a.m. Enjoy diving at Koh Ran Ped Ran Kai. If lucky, you might spot a whale shark!

12.00 p.m. Have home-cooked lunch. 1.30 p.m. Visit the Crab Bank, the center of marine conservation. 2.30 p.m. Listen to a local guide about the Crab Bank and help release carbs back to their home. 4.00 p.m. Go back to the homestay.

5.00 p.m. Enjoy dinner at the homestay. 6.00 p.m. Drop off at the Airport, the bus station or hotels in town.

Contributing Marine Conservation

The recreational activities at Patew community support the local marine conservation. For examples, the activities included mangrove reforestation, visitation at the village’s conservation learning center , and reintroduction of blue-swimmer crab population. Most importantly, to help raising awareness of coastal and marine natural resources toward visitors and host members for sustainable consumption.
